  • 1.  Chapter Officer Notice

    Good Afternoon Chapter Leadership,

The following message from Eddie was sent to all governance meeting registrants. The Management Team and Senior Staff are in regular contact to ensure the operational integrity of the Institute and the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, members and customers.

On March 15, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidelines recommending "that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States."

CCIM Institute is committed to the health and safety of our members, course participants, instructors, and staff and therefore will move its Midyear Governance Meetings online.

We are currently reviewing the schedule for these virtual meetings and will provide an updated schedule and additional information in the days ahead.

Refunds for ticketed events will be processed ASAP, and information regarding hotel rooms will also be forthcoming. At this time, airlines are offering to waive change fees on airline reservations, and we encourage attendees to contact their airlines. Please watch your inbox and the CCIM Connect communities for your respective committees.

And please note: The Comprehensive Exam and pinning ceremony have been canceled; we're notifying exam takers and will send them more information as soon as it's available.

In addition, CCIM Institute is canceling all official travel by staff, volunteers, or members on behalf of the Institute until April 30. Also, your local CCIM chapter may be modifying or postponing events based on the new CDC guidelines.

CCIM Institute also prepared a resource page for commercial real estate professionals to provide additional professional guidance around this issue. This page will be updated as more information becomes available.

In addition, we encourage you to monitor the information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) for the ongoing safety of you and your family.

Please know that this decision was a painful one to make. I personally will miss hosting everyone in my home city of Charlotte, N.C. But in another way, it was an easy decision. In the end, the most important thing is the well-being of all CCIM Institute members, volunteers, staff, and meeting attendees. Please be safe and do all the right things to be personally and socially responsible. Lastly, your 2020 management and staff teams want to wish each of you good health, now and in the future.

Please reach out to me or Greg Fine, FASAE, CAE, CCIM Institute's CEO/EVP, if you have any questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Eddie D. Blanton, CCIM
    2020 President
    CCIM Institute
