First Quarter 2019
President’s Message

Thank you all for the opportunity to serve as Chapter President this year. I am looking forward to continued growth of our chapter. It is hard to move into 2019, however, without thanking Leslie Biskner, Immediate Past President for her fantastic leadership, which is always conducted with a smile.

We ended the year with an education event and a social event. Ohio CCIM Chapter co-sponsored a Core Civil Rights class with NAIOP and we held our year-end holiday party. We gathered at Pins Mechanical Co. in Dublin to socialize, thank Leslie for her service and present Ohio State University student Cody Carey with the Shad Phipps, CCIM Scholarship, to be used towards his spring 2019 tuition. Thank you to Cooperative Business Services and Leslie for sponsoring the evening.

Entering 2019, we have a number of exciting programs on the schedule. CCIM’s outstanding Negotiations Class in Columbus was sold out! We are also partnering with Columbus Realtors at the Joint Industry Forecast Lunch later this month. Deals and Drinks throughout the state are coming your way. The next Deals and Drinks will be Thursday, February 7 at 4:30 at Winking Lizard in Independence.

Check out the Ohio CCIM Chapter website and our Ohio CCIM Chapter Group on Linkedin ( https://www.linkedin.com/groups/2184353/ ).

Reminder to pay your CCIM dues AND your Ohio CCIM Chapter dues as soon as possible.

We are always looking for your ideas for courses and programs. Please contact me at 216-857-2075 to get involved.

Sincerely,

Tech Corner
Perhaps lost in the holiday shuffle was an email to all members from the Institute regarding Site To Do Business (STDB). If you utilize STDB, STOP AND READ THIS. In 2019, there will be a new credit-based usage model in place. In the past, members have had unlimited access to demographics, business lists, geocoding and map storage. All of these services are still to be available but there will be credits associated with usage of each. For example, a demographic report will use 10 credits while a business list search will use 10 credits per 1,000 records. Every member has received 2,500 credits, which means that you need to be a heavy user of STDB in order to use all of your allotted credits. And for those that do, additional blocks of 1,000 credits can be purchased for $100. For more information, click here.

The Ohio CCIM Chapter has a terrific lineup of courses for 2019. Our initial offering of the newly revamped live Negotiations class was sold out! But if you missed it, don’t worry – this success ensures that we will be offering it in Cleveland and Cincinnati later this year. The rest of our education calendar looks like this:

January 9 – Negotiations (Columbus)
April 8 thru 11 – CI102 (Columbus)
July 18 thru 19 – Foundations (Cincinnati)
September 25 thru 26 – Foundations (Columbus)
December 2 thru 5 – CI101 (Cleveland)

These courses will be available for registration thru www.ccim.com by the end of January.
