Why I am a CCIM

"CCIM is THE recognized commercial real estate professional designation and the only one I see advertised in Alaska. It represents a commitment to professional development through education. Additionally, in order to hold the designation you must validate your experience level to a board of your peers and the bar is set fairly high. The consumer knows when working with a CCIM they have choose a commercial professional who is educated AND experienced. Lastly, I appreciate that in order to retain the CCIM designation you must also adhere to an ethical standard. I feel the importance of business ethics is sometimes lost in industry and having a written standard is important. Overall, I find more industry specific value to holding the CCIM designation than I do from my MBA." |

"In this field, all we have is what is between our ears, and our time. That’s what we are selling. I knew that CCIM provided the best route for me to improve my knowledge, to become a cut above the average bear, fairly quickly. So I embraced the challenge. I recognized that it was a way to ramp up, quickly, and essentially leapfrog a lot of years and stature, in what was then a down market. It paid off." |
