Charles Arthur “Mac” McClure, III of Parker, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2022, at the age of 75 surrounded by his beloved wife, son and loved ones.  Mac was born on October 17, 1946, to Charles Arthur McClure, II and Frances Lera (Zabloudil) McClure in Abilene, Texas. A graduate of Abilene High School, Mac earned a bachelor’s in business administration from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from Hardin Simmons University.

Mac worked for Southwestern Bell, then with his mother at Frances McClure Realtors and later moved to Dallas to pursue a career in commercial real estate, where he founded The Industrial Group (TIG). Mac was passionate about education and professional development, and during his real estate career he became an active instructor and advocate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute, a nationally renowned trade association aimed at education and training for distinguished real estate professionals. It was during his time as a CCIM instructor that he met the love of his life, Susan Barbee. Mac spoke fondly of the first time he saw Susan and doted on how they were married just a few short months after they met in 1989.  Throughout Mac’s real estate career, he was a CCIM instructor for over 30 years.  Susan later became a CCIM instructor herself, and the couple was known as a dynamic duo who taught classes together.

One of Mac’s greatest joys was being a father to his son, John William McClure. Mac was passionate about building the family business and took John under his wing as a young man to teach him the nuts and bolts of business, finance, commercial real estate, and construction. Eventually, Mac, Susan and John formed McClure Partners and relocated their business to Wylie, Texas, providing full-service commercial real estate services.

Mac lived life to the fullest and spent much of his time as an avid competitive shooter in sporting clays and pigeons.  He adored his English Labrador Retrievers, Halle, Abbey and Marfa, and each of them enjoyed time with Mac at the Dallas Gun Club most weekends.  Most of all, Mac enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones, and especially loved admiring his three grandchildren.    

Mac was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances McClure, and his father-in-law, Joe D. Barbee.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Susan McClure of Parker, Texas; son, John McClure and wife, Mary, also of Parker, Texas; grandchildren, Lila McClure, Luke McClure, and Sam McClure; sister, Julie Hagin and husband, Terry of Abilene, Texas; nephew, Chase Hagin and wife, Catherine; niece, Amanda Doege and husband, Preston and their daughter, Avery; cousins, Alan Zabloudil and Ann Berryman; mother-in-law, Loretta Barbee, brother-in-law, Terry Barbee and wife Joella, and nieces and nephews and other dear friends.   

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.  Inurnment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park at a later date.

The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
