Scholarship Opportunities and Materials

With special gratitude to Harold H. Huggins, CCIM, Alfred Lau, CCIM, and Karl Wagner, CCIM, and the CCIM Foundation, the Mid-Atlantic CCIM Chapter is pleased to offer the following educational scholarships: 

Harold H. Huggins, CCIM Scholarship ($1,000)

 

The Harold H. Huggins, CCIM Scholarship honors Harold Huggins, CCIM as a past chapter president, member of the Mid-Atlantic CCIM Chapter, and longtime board member. Named endowed scholarships honored the dedication, commitment, outstanding achievement and service in the commercial real estate and investment area of special CCIMs. In 2004, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter committed to fund this scholarship by contributing $12,500.00 to the CCIM Education Foundation. The CCIM Education Foundation then matched the remaining $12,500.00 for a total $25,000 scholarship fund.

 

Alfred Lau, CCIM Scholarship ($1,000)

 

The Alfred Lau, CCIM Scholarship honors Alfred Lau as a past president and member of the Mid-Atlantic CCIM Chapter and as a Mid-Atlantic National CCIM Instructor. Named endowed scholarships honored the dedication, commitment, outstanding achievement and service in the commercial real estate and investment area of special CCIMs. In 2004, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter committed to fund this scholarship by contributing $12,500.00 to the CCIM Foundation. The CCIM Foundation then matched the remaining $12,500.00 for a total $25,000 scholarship fund.

 

Karl Wagner, CCIM Scholarship ($1,000)

 

The Karl Wagner Scholarship honors Karl Wagner CCIM as a past president and member of the Mid-Atlantic CCIM Chapter and as a Mid-Atlantic National CCIM Instructor. Named endowed scholarships honored the dedication, commitment, outstanding achievement and service in the commercial real estate and investment area of special CCIMs. In 2004, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter committed to fund this scholarship by contributing $12,500.00 to the CCIM Foundation. The CCIM Foundation then matched the remaining $12,500.00 for a total $25,000 scholarship fund.

Applicant Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The selection shall primarily be based on merit, including the following factors:

  • Applicant must be employed in the commercial real estate field.
  • Applicant must submit an application including noteworthy accomplishments related to the commercial real estate industry, community and professional volunteer service, career goals, importance of the scholarship, etc.
  • Applicant must be a National Candidate and be committed to obtaining the CCIM designation.
  • Applicant must certify by signed statement that they believe they have completed at least 50% of the experience requirements for the CCIM designation (or be an approved Fast Track candidate).
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Provide a history of employment.
  • Provide personal and professional references.
  • Applicant must be a member of or join the Mid-Atlantic CCIM Chapter

 

Recipients will receive up to $1,000 to offset the cost of one of the following CCIM designation courses:

The CCIM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and generously matches our Chapter’s funds from the above-named scholarships. The Mission of the CCIM Foundation is to advance and foster commercial real estate education through scholarships, programs and initiatives.
