What is a CCIM?

Our mission is to elevate our members
to the highest levels of success in the real estate profession.

CCIM stands for Certified Commercial Investment Member. The CCIM pin is commercial real estate's most coveted credential.

As the most recognized leaders in commercial investment real estate, CCIM designees have proven expertise in financial, market and investment analysis as well as negotiation.  CCIM designees are able to help their clients:

  • Minimize risk
  • Enhance credibility
  • Make informed decisions
  • Close more deals

Designees and candidates in 50 chapters worldwide represent a referral network of 13,000 members in 30 countries who close more than $200 billion in deals annually.

To earn the CCIM designation, CCIMs complete a comprehensive designation curriculum that includes over 160 hours of coursework in financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, investment analysis, interest-based negotiation and ethics. CCIMs must also submit a  portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience. Finally, they must successfully complete a comprehensive examination which is offered twice a year.

Any commercial real estate practitioner is eligible to enroll in designation courses and apply to receive the distinction after having successfully completed all requirements.  Designees are made of:

  • Brokers
  • Appraisers
  • Asset Managers
  • Corporate Real Estate Executives
  • Property Managers
  • Bankers
  • Attorneys
  • Commercial Lenders
  • Other professionals in the commercial real estate field
