Public and Private Collaboration

Speaker: Alex Joyce, Managing Partner, Cascadia Partners, LLC

Employment lands face daunting site readiness challenges that often render them financially infeasible for development. The Port of Portland, Portland Metro, Greater Portland Inc. and 14 other jurisdictions partnered on a project to explore new innovative tools to overcome these site development challenges.

Alex Joyce, the Managing Director of Cascadia Partners, led the consulting team and will share key findings of the work, including:
  • Actions necessary by state, regional and local leadership
  • Implementation ideas
  • Partnerships
Join us November 11th for an in depth look at how effective, clear communication between the private and public sector can result in successful projects.

Alex is a multi-faced real-estate development and land use planner. He has wide-ranging experience in coordinating planning, transportation, urban design, and development finance projects across the United States. He has managed public-private partnership developments including leading the development feasibility analysis, site planning, and due diligence for public agencies. He also manages large-scale master planning processes for landowners seeking to create walkable, mixed-use communities that are financially feasible given market conditions. Alex's passion and expertise in both design and finance are the driving forces in his work. His approach is rooted in the philosophy that a successful project needs both the vision to inspire excitement and buy-in, but also the pragmatic, financial strategy to actually get built.
